Villa S.

I - Renon 2008

  architecture: K. + S. Valtingojer

Surrounded by the lovely low mountain landscape of the Renon the site is situated within an agricultural area. The new compact building slides into the little larch wood respectfully and the slightly sloped terrain enforces its rooted sensation. From the garden gate a gently curved graveled pathway leads to the living areas and opens new sights by coming closer to the house. Long shifted natural stone walls arrange the open space and generate an optimal disposition of different terrain levels. Following the simple old typical walls from the Renon they also give the garden an atmosphere of pure elegance.
The selection of plants also follows the ruderal landscape pattern by using wild hedge species except several solitaire grand shrubs.
relax A spacious bathing pond is located opposite the house at a level slightly below. Its dimensions garantee a natural water purification and within a few years the pond will look like a little lake rather than an artificial pond.
The surrounding meadow shall be cutted twice a year and therefore ensure around the pond a lively wildlife which can be observed with pleasure sitting on the wooden platform or the benches nearby.
